Family Weekend #2

This was weekend #2 with family. Jim's Dad, Mom and sister, Jennifer came to visit Thursday through Sunday. Isaac was very happy to see them for all the attention was on him. On Thursday evening we gave the tour of campus and went to Malibu Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream for dessert and just chatted.

On Friday we ventured off to another long day at Disneyland. Isaac went on the Matterhorn for the very first time this visit and Jim and I weren't sure how he would like it. Well, it turns out that through the entire ride he had his arms held hi and when I asked him what he thought he told me he wanted to go on it again! We thought that was great! I think everyone had a nice time. Jeanne enjoyed Halloween fireworks show and watching Isaac get excited for everything.

Saturday we went to the Santa Monica Pier and I couldn't believe the weather. Not that we have had terrible fall weather (it has been in the upper 70's) it was in the mid 80's this past weekend. The beach was wonderful! Isaac enjoyed riding the rides on the pier and even held his arms up for those. The highlight of the trip was when Isaac did the trampoline with the bungee cord harness. He loved bouncing high up in the air. He thought he was "flying."

Sunday was pretty mellow. Jim made homemade biscuits with homemade sausage gravy and eggs for breakfast before we headed off to church. After church I made some chocolate gravy for the remaining biscuits as a treat before the Wuehler's left. We all had a nice visit and we get to do it one more time this coming weekend when Jim's brother, Craig and his wife, Suzanne come to visit.

oh, and the picture of the owl is a craft that Isaac made with his friend Jacob that he is really proud of.

Another Sighting

Today I took Isaac to Bluff's Park in Malibu which is right across the street from Pepperdine to play with his friend, Jacob. There is a small building that holds classes like Kindermusik in it and it is right next the play area. Well, guess who was in the Kindermusik class with her son: Minnie Driver.

All smiles

I was very happy this was caught on video because Elizabeth hardly ever smiles for the camera. She can be smiling and when the camera comes out she turns into a stone-faced little girl.

Busy Weekend

This weekend Jim's Dad flew in and we had a busy weekend. We picked him up from LAX on Friday morning and spent the day in Disneyland. Isaac enjoyed spending a day riding rides with him and showing him around. From there, we drove down to San Diego for the night and stayed in a hotel which was an adventure. Trying to get everyone to sleep at the same time was a nightmare. Isaac thought it was his "new house" and he told us he liked it. Maybe I hold take a hint that we have been on "transition" for too long. I was up until 1 am with him and to my surprise when I was channel surfing to find something we both could watch, I stumble across porn. Yup, that's right. FREE porn thanks to showtime. I was outraged!!! What kind of hotel has channels on their TV that provide that service and not notify the guests. Anyways, back to my story. So on Saturday we went to Qualcomm Stadium for the BYU/SDSU game. We attended the BYU tailgate before the game and Isaac enjoyed getting his face painted, looking att he cheerleaders and wearing his new BYU football jersey. After sitting in the hot sun for the first half, it was nice that sun set a bit and the temperature dropped. BYU won and everyone had a nice time. On the way home we decided to stop by Disneyland again and arrived in the park at 9:25pm; right in time for the fireworks which made Isaac so happy. After returning back home at 2am, we all went to bed and slept in this morning. It was a very busy weekend but I know that Jim and Isaac enjoyed spending time with their Dad/grandpa.

The Many Faces of Isaac

I was on the computer and I turn my head to find Isaac making these faces at me. Jim and I thought they were pretty funny.

A Bunch of Stuff

Can you tell Isaac took a couple of these pictures?

Isaac just can't part with his pirate toys, even if that means wearing only under-roos. I love it!

This is supposed to be a pirate boat. It was Jim's trial run to see if it was do able for Isaac's birthday cake. Of course for his birthday, there will be more color and decorations. Nonetheless, I think Jim was more excited about the pirate cake he made than Isaac was.

This was our Girl's Night Out photo. I wish I wasn't wearing such a baggy shirt. I look huge. Anyways, we had a nice time with each other while the husbands/Dads stayed home. We went to the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade. We walked around and the plan was to eat dinner at Barney's Beanery but since they don't take reservations and we were a large group, the wait was an hour and a half. No thank you! Instead we ate at Yankee Doodles. After dinner we enjoyed watching the street performers before driving back to Malibu. I think we will make GNO a monthly ritual.

Jim is in finals this weeks. His first 8 weeks went by quick for all of us. He has been working all hours day and night on his group projects and studying for his tests. He is learning that working with groups can be less than merry but the work must still get done. This has been his great learning experience this semester. Good luck Jim!

The videos below are of Jacob, Isaac's best bud, and Isaac dancing and singing during one of their play dates.

Sydney's Birthday Party

This is Sydney. She is a little girl in our ward and apartment complex that had her 2 year birthday party. All the little kids in the apartment complex were there. They had fun playing with play dough, decorating their own cupcakes and playing with Sydney's new rocking horse. Isaac had a great time playing with all of his friends and was so excited to watch Sydney open her presents.
Isaac and his friend, Jacob showing off their cupcakes they decorated. Jacob is only 3 days younger than Isaac and they are best buds!

Baby Shower

My new ward, The Pacific Palisades Ward, threw me a baby shower. I thought that was extremely nice considering Elizabeth is already 2 1/2 months old and no on really knows me yet. It was such a nice night and I recieved a bunch of wonderful gifts. It was great to feel so welcomed into the ward and meet new people. I still can't believe how nice and generous these ladies are for throwing someone they don't even know a shower. Thanks again! Here are some pictures of the goods. Just look at the goods because I look aweful in all of these pictures!

These boys, Porter and Dallin, came running in from the Dodgers game saying they won. It was the cutest thing. They are Gabrielle's, the lady whose house it was at, sons.

Look Familar?

Jim's sister, Julie, brought this to my attention; Isaac is in the same pose but 2 years later. I thought it was cute.

And So It Begins

This weekend is the kick of weekend to family visiting and weekly trips to Disneyland from now until Thanksgiving. This weekend my brother and his friends came down to spend the weekend with "The Mouse." He is a HUGE Disney fan like myself. On Friday we drove down and spent the day with him and his friends on the park. He was so excited to take Isaac on the rides and watch the different shows with him and Isaac was so excited to have 5 other people besides Jim and myself to have at his beck and call. It was such a fun day and now we can't wait for our next visitor, Big Jim, when we all go down to San Diego for the weekend.
Isaac Loved all the Halloween decorations and he was actually able to see the characters this time. Disney needs to hire people to take better pictures since Elizabeth is headless.
I
Isaac has a HUGE obsession with pirates! He was so excited to go on Pirate's Lair (aka: Tom Sawyer's Island) and find all the hidden treasure and climb through caves.
