The Tramp

Our Bishop's Family has a trampoline in their back yard with the padding and netting all the way around it. Isaac LOVES to go on it with their daughter, Sarah. I think with little kids, the padding and netting is the way to go. Well, after the sealing we headed to Angie's parents house for a luncheon. In the backyard was a big trampoline--minus the padding and netting. Nonetheless, Isaac still wanted to jump. He had so much fun jumping and falling with the other kids there. I wish that I recorded some of his falls because some of them were really funny. I was, however, to worried about him falling off or falling in between the spring coils. He had fun, Mom stressed out a bit. All in all, he had a great day!

Neck Bridge

Jim and his father would like nothing more than Isaac to be a wrestler in high school. When is it too young to start learning moves? Well, here is Isaac practicing his "neck bridge." This should make Daddy and Grandpa Wuehler proud!

Paul and Angie

Today Jim and I were lucky to observe the sealing of our friends, Paul and Angie Simpson for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married a year and a half a go and we were excited to be a part of that also. We are so happy for them! Congrats you two!

MISC

I love this picture of Isaac sleeping in the chair. Earlier in that day, I found him asleep on his tummy with his butt in the air and his feet hanging off it.

Breast is Best?

So a letter was sent to Ben and Jerry's from PETA regarding the use of cow's milk in their ice cream.

Read the letter and I am interested in what you think. As for me, I enjoy it just the way it is!

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield,
CofoundersBen & Jerry's Homemade Inc.

Dear Mr. Cohen and Mr. Greenfield,On behalf of PETA and our more than 2 million members and supporters, I'd like to bring your attention to an innovative new idea from Switzerland that would bring a unique twist to Ben and Jerry's.Storchen restaurant is set to unveil a menu that includes soups, stews, and sauces made with at least 75 percent breast milk procured from human donors who are paid in exchange for their milk. If Ben and Jerry's replaced the cow's milk in its ice cream with breast milk, your customers-and cows-would reap the benefits.Using cow's milk for your ice cream is a hazard to your customer's health. Dairy products have been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer. The late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America's leading authority on child care, spoke out against feeding cow's milk to children, saying it may play a role in anemia, allergies, and juvenile diabetes and in the long term, will set kids up for obesity and heart disease-America's number one cause of death.Animals will also benefit from the switch to breast milk. Like all mammals, cows only produce milk during and after pregnancy, so to be able to constantly milk them, cows are forcefully impregnated every nine months. After several years of living in filthy conditions and being forced to produce 10 times more milk than they would naturally, their exhausted bodies are turned into hamburgers or ground up for soup. And of course, the veal industry could not survive without the dairy industry. Because male calves can't produce milk, dairy farmers take them from their mothers immediately after birth and sell them to veal farms, where they endure 14 to17 weeks of torment chained inside a crate so small that they can't even turn around. The breast is best! Won't you give cows and their babies a break and our health a boost by switching from cow's milk to breast milk in Ben and Jerry's ice cream? Thank you for your consideration.Sincerely,Tracy ReimanExecutive Vice President

BYU 44 Wyoming 0

BYU is 4 and 0 with two of those wins being shut outs! Not bad! I was a little worried about going to the game because the weather was supposed to being thunder and lightening on and off all day. It wouldn't have been stressful if it was just Jim and me, but I didn't want Isaac standing in the rain. Well right before we were headed out the door, the heavens opened and poured sheets of rain down. We decided to go anyway. I packed Isaac a couple of changes of clothes and even a garbage bag that I could make into a poncho if needed. Needless to say, it was not necessary because a couple of minutes before kickoff, the clouds parted and it was sunny for the WHOLE game! What luck! We can't wait to go to the next home game against New Mexico. Hopefully BYU will keep up their winning streak!

BYU 59 - UCLA 0

Yesterday we went to the BYU/UCLA football game. This was our first year that we didn't have any friends to sit by since all of our football buddies have moved. =0( No worries though. We still had a great time. The weather was wonderful, Isaac loved his snow cone and BYU beat UCLA 59 to 0. Can you believe it? We left after the 3rd quarter since we figured there was no hope for UCLA. I love college football and I am glad that this is something that we can do as a whole family and the whole family actually enjoys it too! It was a great day!

Never too old

Isaac has fallen in love again with his swing. He LOVED it last year but wasn't so interested in it until about a month ago. Last year I would always push him and he would fall asleep Well, the other day when we had a few minutes to spare until it was time to go to the gym, he said he wanted to swing. That was fine with me and so we played his new game in the swing; he swings and I throw a ball to him and he kicks it with his feet. well, low and behold, after 5 minutes his eyes shut and snores started coming out of his nose. I thought he was too old to fall asleep in the swing since he is so active, but I guess he proved me wrong.

5 minutes

  • I have learned that all it takes is 5 minutes to have a room turned up-side-down when you have a toddler. Case in point: The other day, I went and bought some things in cases like corn, chili, chicken broth, cream of mushroom soup. You get the picture. (I know that my relief society president will be very happy since she is the "food storage guru of Utah Valley). Anyways, I put them in Isaac's room when he was napping since that is where our food storage is kept. Ghetto, I know. A little bit later in the day when he was awake, the phone rang. I was on the phone for literally five minutes and I find him in his room with all my newly bought cans along with my old ones chaotically displayed all over the room and in baskets. Along with the cans, he decided that he needed to empty out all of his drawers and put his clothes all over the floor . He was very proud of himself when I entered the room. Oh well, what was I supposed to do? I decided to take a picture.

Cabin

After the few days we spent in the Bay Area, we headed to my parent cabin in Cedar Ridge by Twain Harte. We had a fun time playing at the lake and watching Isaac chase the ducks around and looking at the fish. We went to Columbia, an old historic mining town and drank Sasparillas in the saloon, went on a coach ride and Isaac loved playing old fashion bowling. We also just hung around the cabin and watched the birds, squirrels and raccoons with Isaac. Of course, a trip the cabin wouldn't be complete if Isaac wasn't covered head to toe in dirt by the end of the day! One day while we were playing horseshoes, Isaac decided that he wanted to collect our horseshoes after we threw them . They were so heavy for him but he didn't care. He still would run and fall in the dirt and then try with all of his might to throw them . It was so fun to watch. We had a great time up there and it was so nice to have fun as a family before Jim started back up in school and work.

Date Night

Jim and I were lucky enough to be able to have a "date night" while we were on our family vacation thanks to his parents for watching Isaac. It was so nice to be able to actually have more than 10 minutes to ourselves! We took BART over to San Francisco and then the F-line of MUNI to the Wharf. After walking around Pier 39 and spending too much money on chocolate at Chocolate Heaven, ( The raspberry and black forest truffles are to die for!), we walked down a few piers to catch a ferry to Alcatraz. I have been there before but Jim hasn't so I was excited to show him around. The really neat thing about it was that instead of going during the day, we did a night tour. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Seeing the San Francisco Skyline at night from the middle of the bay couldn't get any better! We had a fabulous time!

Are you Serious?

While we were in California for our family vacation, we decided to go for a dip in my parents hot tub. I guess Isaac had a busy day because as I was helping him practice his back floats and looking at the stars, he fell asleep. That's right. He fell asleep in the hot tub! Who does that?

Being silly

Here are some pictures of us being silly with the camera. Isaac is starting to realize what the camera does and he turns into such a ham in front of it.
