Pooped!

With the warm weather that we had, Isaac found every excuse to play hard and explore outside. This is what dinner looked like a couple of nights ago. Poor guy. He was pooped!

A Day Out With Thomas

Today Jim and I took Isaac to Heber, Utah to the "Day out with Thomas." You know, Thomas the Train? Jim and I aren't really big fans of Thomas, but Jim's co-worker had an extra ticket so we said that we would go. Despite the fact that it is almost June and a few days ago it was in the 90's, it was drizzling today and the high was 40. Yes, I said 40! Not to mention that is was SNOWING in the mountains around us !It felt SO cold. We ended up having a nice day all bundled up, though. Good thing I kept out a couple of pants and jackets for Isaac instead of packing away ALL of his winter clothes. We rode "Thomas" which was actually a real big train, went to the petting zoo, watched performers and looked at a Lego train which Isaac loved. He really had a great time with everything. One of the things that I enjoyed was a family of talented musicians. It was the Mom and Dad plus their 8 kids, well 7 since the youngest looked under 1, singing, playing the drums, keyboard, Cello, fiddles and violins. They all had matching costumes and the girls had really long hair with puffed up bangs. They looked like something out of Backwoods America with children that are home schooled (there is nothing wrong with homeschooling by the way), that don't know anything about the "modern world" It's like the Von Trapp Family, but more like the "Von Smith" family. They were pretty amazing. I am sure much work and dedication has gone on in that home. Afterwards we went to a park and ate lunch and played for a bit. All in all it was cold, but a nice day.

New Hair Color

Last week, I got my hair cut and highlighted which I like, but I think that when I go back to Ca I will have her go a little lighter. What do do you think if I went the color of Cameron's hair. You can see before pictures from earlier blogs. Let me know.

Streaker

Isaac loves being naked. He runs around the house naked after his baths and recently the weather has been warm, so he has just been in a diaper. Yesterday, we had our friends over for dinner and it was a warm day. Isaac was playing in the sprinkler, but his diaper was getting a little heavy from the water so I decided to take it off. I think to him, it was freedom. He ran all over the back yard and front yard naked and even into our neighbor's house since her door was open. All of us were jsut laughing at him. He was too funny. He played in the water and the dog all afternoon naked. I do have to say that when it was time to put his diaper back on, he was not to trilled, but oh well. The running around naked season is just beginning . As for the goggle picture, I just thought that was funny.

Rock Canyon

The other day we decided to enjoy the warm weather and go "hiking" in Rock Canyon. In the past when we have gone hiking, we have always put Isaac into one of those front baby carriers which always worked well. Now that he can walk, and is a little too heavy for the carrier, we decided to let him "hike" with us. Well, we didn't get to far before Isaac was stopping to pick up rocks, leaves, dirt and twigs. We also constantly stopped so Isaac could watch bugs crawl and fly away. The big distraction however, were all the rock climbers all around us. Isaac was so interested in them I guess it seemed natural for him to give it a try. Needless to say we only went about a mile and a half, but it sure took us a long time and Isaac was very tired buy the end of it.

"V" Tree

My Mom really wanted to take some pictures of the family while they were here. She kept saying she wanted them by our "V" tree. None of us were that thrilled, but what the heck, if it makes her happy, why not? I thought these pictures were funny. You can tell by the last picture what Jim and I thought about the idea.

Zoo

So after 3 weeks in a row with different family members here, my parents waited for a few weeks and came out on Mother's Day weekend to visit. Everyone had a really nice time, but I think Isaac enjoyed it the most. He had their undivided attention for 3 whole days! We went to Thanksgiving Point and looked at the animals and Hogle Zoo which ended up being Mommy and Me day at the Zoo because it was Mother's day weekend. That was a nice surprise because we got t-shirts free massages and free face painting. There were other activities going on too, but Isaac was to young to be interested in them. On Sunday, we just hung around the house and enjoyed the warm weather. Isaac enjoyed playing with the hose and in the dirt while we BBQ-ed and of course my parents were enjoying every last minute of him before they caught their flight back home in the evening.

I need an incentive!

So for those of you who don't know, I have been struggling to lose weight for a while. Last X-mas, my parents got me a personal trainer that I see once a week which I am really enjoying. I have been successful at losing 20 of the 60lbs that I want gone since January, but I am still struggling to meet my 30 lb mark my June. I normally go to the gym 5-6 days a week, but now I am doing double days to try to reach it. The only problem is, is that I am starting to lose motivation and I need a really good incentive to meet my goal by June. I am in the best shape that I have been in the past 6 years so that has been great. Plus, I am still not pregnant so I figured that is even more of a reason to push myself. All in all, those are losing its touch. If you can suggest any incentives, please let me know. Jim already vetoed Disneyland and NKOTB....surprise surprise. OK, maybe those should be saved for if and when I reach my 60 lb mark.

Outside

Isaac has been enjoying the warm spring weather. He LOVES being outside and he especially LOVES playing in grass clippings and dirt. And Jim and I are loving the fact that Isaac LOVES the dirt!

NKOTB

For those of you who are my age or a little older, you probably recognize what I am blogging about with the title, NKOTB or New Kids On The Block. Can I just say that I am pee your pants excited about their reunion tour! I know, I know. I am weird and probably a little insane, but NKOTB was the boy band from my time. Come on, I really wanted to grow up and marry Donnie despite my best friend, Jennifer. She liked him too. Didn't you want to marry Donnie or Joey? After so much money spent on buttons, t-shirts, pajamas, cassette tapes concert tickets etc, it only seems to make sense to re-live a little bit of my childhood and do it all over again. Yes, I look at their website and I am even a member of their fan club. I have to admit though, that I am VERY disappointed that the reunion tour has only been announced for the East Coast states and parts of Canada. Come on. Bring the love to the West Coast! Jennifer and I are ready to camp out for tickets just so we can see our junior high heart throbs that were always on the cover of Teen Beat. Do you share the excitement too? Let me know if you do or if I am the only weirdy in these parts.

Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

Well, this winter and now spring have not been very healthy ones for the Wuehler home. Well, ok for Isaac and me. Between six ear infections, swimmers ear, allergic reactions to medications, influenza, bronchitis, pneumonia, and the stomach flu we can now add Hand Foot and Mouth disease to the list. Can you believe it? It seems like we can never catch a break! I kinda freaked out internally when I found out what Isaac had and I asked my doctor if that was the disease that cows got. I was wondering how Isaac contracted a cattle disease, but the doctor quickly clarified and said I was thinking of "hoof and mouth" disease. Phew! That was a close call. Apparently it is a common spring virus here in Utah. Who would have guessed. Well, I try to look on the bright side and say to myself that when Isaac does enter preschool, he will already have been exposed to everything and will probably be the only "healthy" kid there. In the meantime, I just cross my fingers that both Isaac and I are done being sick for the season!
