Week 7- DISNEYLAND and JIM!

This week was a super fun-filled week. Backing up a few months, Jim and I received a call from my parents asking if they can take all of us to Disneyland when we come this summer. "Uh, ya!," was our response. There were only 2 points of concern: 1. We weren't sure if Jim would be able to make it due to his high traveling for work and 2: This must be kept a secret from the kids.
Well, we went on planning and up until about 2 weeks before the trip, we still weren't sure that Jim would be able to make it. We were delighted when we found out that he would be joining us since it would be 6.5 weeks since we have seen him.
On the morning that we were to leave to start our magical adventure to the Magical Kingdom, we made sure the truck and everything was packed for the airport and ready to go before we woke up the kids before the roosters even crowed. Of course the kids were SUPER excited and just couldn't believe it! They still don't know Jim is coming.
When we arrived at the baggage claim at the Orange County Airport, Jim approached the kids slowly from behind. Once they saw him it took them a minute to realize that Dad was actually there and not some man that just happened to look like him. It was fun watching them run and hug him, not letting go and talking a hundred miles per hour. Then they told him we were going to Disneyland!

We stayed at the Marriot Fairfield Inn across the street from the park and had a great time. All three kids were troopers while dealing with the hot weather, crowds, getting up early every morning and going to bed late every night. We only had a few melt downs. Elizabeth enjoyed Fantasyland while Isaac couldn't get enough of Star Tours. Elizabeth had fun meeting all the princesses especially Cinderella. She was thrilled that Cinderella called her her friend. Isaac was eager to fight Darth Vater in the Jedi Training Academy and became a Padowan. William was along for the ride but LOVED meeting the characters to all of our surprise. He wasn't scared at all but more the opposite. He would reach to touch them while smiling, kicking his legs in excitement and giggling.

One of the nights there, we ate at Goofy's Kitchen which is always fun with kids. Of course, there isn't much eating going on with the kids since they are on super drive getting to meet the characters.

Jim had to leave Monday morning and head back to New York and we stayed in the park until the after where we then headed to the airport. By then, we were all a little grumpy and tired but had a great trip! Thanks Mom and Dad for the great trip and memories!
