Happy Halloween

Well, I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Isaac seemed to enjoy himself. He was dressed up as a corn cobb and I am sure that I will hear about it when he gets older. He had such a fun time trick-or-treating and watching the other kids in their costumes go by. Instead of receiving candy at the doors, I made some Halloween-themed sugar cookies and gave them to the people passing out candy since Isaac is still too young to be eating it. Beside, he didn't know any difference.

Well, I can't wait for next year! It will only get more fun here on out!

Fall

We have SOOO many leaves on the ground from our big trees! Isaac loves going outside and of course, go straight for the rocks to eat. He slowly but surly found all the leaves on the ground and discovered that they made crinkly noises and were fun to play with. I think, however, that Jim and I had more fun playing in the leaves with Isaac than he did. We poured leaves over his head and tossed him in a pile of leaves that was almost twice his height. To make things worse, Isaac wasn't really sure hoe he felt about the leaves, but Jim and I almost peed our pants laughing at how unsure he was. I can't wait until it really snows so we can push Isaac in it!!!

The Nightmare Before Christmas

So Jim and I went to Disneyland for the weekend while Jim's mom, Jeanne, watched Isaac. We stayed at the Grand Californian Resort and really enjoyed it. Disneyland was all festive for Halloween with pumpkins everywhere, yellow and orange ribbons, Characters with costumes on and my favorite, the Haunted Mansion was TOTALLY transformed into Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. There were people everywhere. It was SO much more crowded than in July when I went!! It was fun to see all the little kids in their Halloween costumes around the park and get excited when they went to "Woody's Round-up" or "Candy Corn Acres." All in all, we had a nice time, but I don'tthink that I will go back again during Halloween!

Taking the Stroller for a Walk

Isaac loves to go on walks, but he really likes to "walk the stroller." We walk around the block like this, well, occasionally we stop to look at the grass, leaves, pine cones. You know how it goes...an hour later you finally made it around the block and back home.

Isaac thinks that it is so cool to drink out of a water bottle, sippy cup or an "adult cup" because whenever he finishes a sip he make a mmmahh sound. I think it is so funny. Jim totally encourages him and it is fun to watch the both of them go back and forth with it.

We went to the BYU vs Eastern Washington game yesterday and BYU blew them out of the water. Isaac normally LOVES the games, but it was so cold and he was SOOOOOO bundled up, he could hardly move! That made him very frustrated. We ended up leaving in the 3rd quarter and I am so glad that we did. About a minute before we reached our car, the heavens opened and down came the rain and snow. It snowed until early in the morning. When Isaac and I woke, I wasn't sure if I was excited for the snow or not, especially since it is only October. Isaac on the other hand, was very excited and when we walked to church he was pointing and making very exciting noises at the snow. It was cute. I can't wait until it snows a little more so I can push him down in it and watch him try to get up. =0)

Church today, like always, is quite the task now that Isaac
can walk. I often ask myself "why do you even go" considering out of the 3 hour block, 75% of it, I am in the foyer with Isaac. Everyone at church think Isaac is so cute walking around and pushing his stoller, but I envy the moms who have children that can play quitely on the floor by themself or in mommy's lap. Oh well, what can I do?

The Death of Me

Ok, so here in Utah, when something becomes popular, it becomes popular. I kept hearing about these books, Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer and how great they were. Of course, I think the whole thing became popular because 1) She is Mormon and 2) she graduated from BYU and since I live in the "Mormon Capital of the World," Mormons need to support Mormons, right? Anyways, when BJ was here visiting, I was telling him about them and when we were at Costco, he bought them for me not knowing that they would disrupt the organization of my home. Well, I started reading and reading and reading. I fell in love with the characters and couldn't put the books down! There goes the first book, then the second, now I am on the third, anxiously awaiting the fourth this spring, meanwhile the dishes are getting higher and the Landry is piling up. I am addicted to these books. The only other time I have been "addicted" to a series is when I read Harry Potter. Jim knows not to even talk to me when I read those. Anyways, I guess I am recommending these books. They are such an easy read and are enjoyable, to my surprise since I normally don't like loves stories nor do I normally enjoy stories about vampires. Enough said about that.

Isaac update. Isaac is walking around like no ones business. Now he added his new talent of clapping his hands. I think it is cute, especially when we claps out of control and loses his balance. Also, Isaac is fascinated by Jim shaving his face! I have seen toddlers do this, but not a 11 month old. Jim finds this amusing and will put shaving cream on Isaac's face and use the back of the razor to "shave" it off. Surprisingly, Isaac holds completely still, hardly blinking even when Jim does this. Who has ever herd of a baby sitting still to be shaved? Isaac NEVER and I mean NEVER holds still for anything!!!! I guess there is nothing that can match Daddy and son bonding.

Scarecrow Festival

The past few days have been fun in the Wuehler home. Big Jim (BJ) was in town for a few days since he ended a conference that he attended in WY. While he was here, he helped put cabinet locks on the cabinets and drawers so my lovely son would keep out of them. For whatever reason, I was just sick and tired of Isaac taking trash out of the trash can and getting mad when I would put it back in. BJ, Isaac and I also went to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT and looked at all the animals. I though this would be a fun activity because Isaac LOVES animals, but he showed no enthusiasm towards them when BJ was with us. Well, he did show a little excitement when he was listen and watching a sheep bleating.

That night we went to dinner at a hibachi and Isaac had the best time watching our no less then wacky chef cook our dinner in front of us. Isaac loves all the fire and utensil throwing.

After BJ left, we were back to "normal." Since Yesterday was a nice day, I thought I would make the most of it since jack Frost will be visiting soon and confine us to the caves in which we live. Isaac and I went back to Thanksgiving Point with my friend, Kammy Blevins and her son, Traven (pronounced tray-ven), for the Scarecrow Festival. The boys had a blast!!!! They loved being outside playing with all the toys, jumping on inflatables, going through haunted houses and watching all the other kids. Their favorite part, I think, was playing with the stroller on the grass and playing with the bales of hay where the scarecrows and pumpkins were. Before we left, we had to stop at the animals, and Isaac was SO excited. He was SO excited that he threw a tantrum when we left!

That night, Jim and Isaac were playing and Jim was making Isaac laugh so hard. I LOVE watching the two of them play! They have so much fun with one another.

You know, there are many things that would make me not want to raise my kids here in Utah, but one of the appealing things about living here, is that there is always festivals and activities geared towards kids and families. I think that's really nice and back home, it is hard to find that.

I guess I will try this

So it seems that everyone and their mom are now bloggers, so I thought that maybe I should try it.

Isaac is starting to walk which is both exciting and terrifying to me at the same time. He walked all the way from one end of the living room to the front door today all on his own. He has also discovered that he now has the world at his finger tips and much to my dismay, is "discovering" everything under the sun in and out of the house. I am curious to see how it will be at Christmas when he can run and pull off all the bows and ribbon on the packages or play with all the decorations on and off the tree. Needless to say, Jim and I are having fun with it. Isaac has a HUGE personality and is not afraid to show it...even more so now that he is walking.
