I found myself utterly disgusted as I was perusing the different pages with pictures yet extremely hungry at the same time.

So Much
So I realized that I had a bunch of stuff on my camera and I needed to upload it all so I have room when we go visit family for Christmas. So lucky you, I decided to do one more blog post before we leave for the holidays.
This week was a busy week for us. On Wednesday we had our Relief Society Christmas Dinner. It was nice to go hang out with other women in my ward while Jim stayed home with the kids. The dinner was a really nice "candle light" dinner served in the RS room on china with china goblets. There was a Christmas reading, caroling and a ton of visiting all among great food.
On Thursday was our monthly girl's night and we decided to keep it low key and just hung out at the Coffee Bean and Crumb's Bakery.
Friday was our ward Christmas dinner and neither Jim nor I have ever been to a ward party quite like this one. We felt like we were at a holiday themed wedding reception. As you can see from the picture, the tables were decorated very nicely and all around the gym were lights, trees and other decorations. Beverages of choice were Martinelli's and San Pellegrino. We had a 5 course dinner that the Priesthood, that's right, the men put together with the help of a professional chef. I choose the salmon while Jim chose the roast as our main courses. I absolutely loved the hors' dourves! Delicious hummus with pita chips, seafood spread with mini baguettes, and array of hard and soft cheeses along with different crackers and one yummy tapenade. The youth of the ward dressed up in black pants , black ties, white shirts and white aprons to take our order and serve us. It was quite a delight. After the dinner was served, the lights dimmed, people loosened up and the music was cranked up for some fun dancing. Everyone had a great time dancing, especially the kids. One of the highlights was a young boy, maybe around 7, took the mic and sang "I gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. In the video, if you listen carefully, you can hear him singing. He knew every single word and grabbed the attention of every single person in the room.
Isaac finally had to learn how to share the jogging stroller/bike caddy with Elizabeth. I think they were really cozy and for the most part enjoyed being in there together while Jim and I went for a jog.
I took Isaac to Disneyland for a Mommy and Isaac date a week ago. Bad Idea!!! Isaac was is such a foul mood. It was AWFUL!! I would have just taken him home if I knew that I wouldn't be sitting in traffic for 3 hours. We did have a few fun and tender moments but for the most part, it was a disaster! We tried again yesterday with another Mommy and Isaac date at the movies to go see The Princess and the Frog. We both enjoyed the movie and enjoyed each other's company. So much better than the day at Disneyland.
Isaac wanted to take silly pictures of the three of us one afternoon.

Family Photo Shoot
It is always fun to have the annual photo shoot. This year was different for us because we didn't have our token spot at BYU that we took the last 3 family photos at and plus we now have 2 kids to try to get to look into the camera. The Buehlers were so nice and took the pictures for us and out of 125+ pictures, there are only a couple that we considered to blow up. They are not shown here. Considering it was a long day at church and the kids only had about a 30 minute nap, I think it went well.

Thanksgiving visit
Over the Thanksgiving holiday we had my parents come and visit. We had a nice visit and went to the beach, Disneyland and hung around the house. While at Disneyland my parents couldn't resist the urge to buy Elizabeth a princess dress. Since is is too small for the traditional princess dresses, they bought her the pink one and a matching jeweled tiara clip that we clipped to her headband. She definitely is our princess. One of the days when we were hanging around my Mom helped Isaac and me decorate our door for December. Normally Isaac and I just do it but it was fun to have her help too.
Waiting For Forever
Last night I went to a pre-premiere screening of the new movie, "Waiting For Forever." I was part of the first audience to ever view this movie and was able to give my feedback of the film and speak with the producer, Trevor Albert and director, James Keach. Online the movie's synopses is that the producers responsible for Walk the Line and Groundhog Day have teamed up to tell the story of actress Emma Twist (Rachel Bilson) and her childhood friend Will Donner (Tom Sturridge). With her personal and professional life spiraling out of control, Emma returns to her hometown to an unexpected declaration of undying love from carefree spirit, Will. As a street performer with no real home or possessions, his enthusiastic, positive nature is driven by his secret belief that he and Emma are meant to spend their lives together. Will must learn the hard way just how unique his positive nature and view of the world are.
Originally, we were told that this movie was supposed to be a romantic comedy but I would highlight it more under "Romantic Drama" than a comedy. A murder, family deaths, distortion of reality hardly seem like a romantic comedy for me. The storyline of this movie is great and I found the cinematography and soundtrack to be fabulous, but as I whole I thought this movie was really weird and left to many loose strings for me.
I was also confused with the character of Will. His distortion of reality was so profound to me that I questioned his character wondering if they meant to portray him as mentally ill. He reminded me of someone that would be in a psychiatric ward. Even the two friends that saw the movie with me felt the same way about will. However, after discussing it with Albert and Keach, I found out that he was not supposed to be portrayed that way at all and then they questioned me with my definition of what "normal" was.
With a cast of Rachel Bilson, Tom Sturridge, Jaime King, Matthew Davis, Richard Jenkins, Blythe Danner and Nicki Blonsky I would have expected something else. Albert and Keach did say that many well named actors and actresses auditioned and wanted to be a part of this movie. As for me, I just don't see what drew them to this script.
On a different note, it was filmed in Ogden, Utah and Salt Lake City. It was funny seeing things like the Great Harvest Bread Company and the Gateway in the film.

Girl's Night Out
This months Girl's Night Out was a bit daring for us old Moms. We decided to go to the midnight showing of New Moon. What were we thinking? Well, we arrived in line around 930 and treated ourselves to some Starbucks hot chocolate and a Crumb's cupcake. After a couple of hours of waiting in line and socializing we went into the theatre and were trying to stay awake to view New Moon. I was a bit peeved when the clocked turned 12:07 and the movie workers decided to do a Twilight trivia game and hand out prizes. I would have been all for it BEFORE midnight! It would have been appropriate to start the trivia game at 11:30pm and start the movie at 12:01am when it was scheduled to start. To add more insult to injury, there was an annoying worker that kept yelling for everyone to stop talking and be quiet. Again, I think they would have had full participation of the audience if they started BEFORE the time the show was supposed to start. So one that was all over, the previews started at 12:26am. I soon forgot about how annoyed and tired I was soon after the movie started. It was SO much better than Twilight. I thought the effects were better and so was the acting, not to mention the the ending. I think the ending was genius!! I can't wait for Eclipse to come out in June. I wouldn't mind seeing New Moon again actually. Even though the movie started late and wee have to travel 20 minutes to a theatre, it was well worth it to get home in bed at 3:45am. I had a great night: fantastic movie with fabulous company.
Isaac's BIrthday Part 2
When we asked Isaac what he wanted to do for his birthday it was no surprise to us that he said he wanted to go to Disneyland. With that in mind, we booked a party in Disneyland and had a great time! We had 45 minutes of pure entertainment with singing and dancing plus we all received birthday hats, sipper cups, and our own birthday cake to decorate and eat. To top off, Mickey and Minnie were there and that made Isaac even more excited. My brother, Ryan, came down to celebrate with us along with his boyfriends and some of our mutual friends. Everyone had a great day playing in the park and celebrating Isaac's 3rd birthday.
Isaac's Birthday Part 1
c
We celebrated Isaac's birthday in a couple of doses. Besides celebrating it when the Wuehler's were here in October, we had a combined party for him and his friend, Jacob since Jacob's birthday is 3 days after Isaac and they are just the best of buds. It was pretty low key. We invited the other kids from the complex to join us for some yummy cupcakes and to help paint brown paper bags that were going to be used for sack lunches for the homeless and needy. The kids LOVED playing in the paint and hanging their artwork up to dry. It was a hit!
